Retrieval update...

We arrived at the clinic at 8:30am, this morning. We no more than arrived and they called us back. Nurse L was my main nurse. She and my nurse anesthetist, kept Alex and me laughing the entire hour that we waited. I'm not kidding...when they finally took me back to the OR, I had a headache from laughing so hard.

We retrieved six eggs, today. My first thought was...only six? God quickly reminded me, that he only needs one to work with. :) On our way home from retrieval/transfers, Alex always takes me through the same restaurant to get my lunch. They have those crinkle cut fries and a really good grilled cheese. I'm always starving, by the time we get home. I was in need of pain medication, by the time we arrived home. It kicked in fast...I could barely get my fries and grilled cheese down, before it kicked in. It helped me sleep for about 4 hours, which was nice.

I will receive daily fertilization reports, starting tomorrow. I'll keep you guys updated!

Love to all,
Jill

I completely understand your thought on six...especially since it's exactly what I had, too. I'll pray that they are able to fertilize all six and they grow to wonderful 8-celled embryos or more!

And great grilled cheese? I need to know more about this restaurant.

woo hoo!! you need anything?? I had no idea it was such an "invasive" procedure with ORs and recovery times (I know, I know nothing... but I'm learning!)
Here's hoping for triplets :)

Been thinking about you today! Every time you popped in my head I prayed for you- that everything would go perfectly today and God would guide the talented hands of those embryologists! Hope you're feeling better-- I guess it's nothing fries and a grilled cheese can't make better (talk about MY kind of lunch!)! Keep us posted!

Yippee!!! So glad that everything went well and so thankful for those six eggs (did you notice that's how many are in the picture too?!?) You're right, God can do it no matter how many eggs there are! I've been praying for you every time the Lord brought you to my mind. I pray that God will give you a continued peace in the waiting.

Love you! Faith

6 sounds like a pretty darn good number to me, Jill. My RE always said the quality, not the quantity, is ALL THAT MATTERS.
I will probably miss updates on everything over the next few days, but know you'll still be in my heart and prayers and I will be loving on those little embryos all the way from my hospital room in Dallas, Texas.
*hugs*

Still praying!!! Can't wait to hear the updates. You can see what time it is when I posted this but I couldn't go to bed without seeing how it went today (I even made Brian come read it with me....he was smiling from ear to ear the whole time we were reading, we were reading together with such excitement). We LOVE being parents and want others to experience the same ups and downs of parenting.

I remember how hungry I was after the egg retrieval. Good thing you have something better than Indian food to go for :). You are in my heart and prayers. I can't wait to hear how the fertilization goes.

Love you!

We're supposed to leave March 14 - Monte's B-day - and come back the following Thurs. March 19th. We have 10 of us from Calvary committed to go and Casey & Cheryl are coming down to go with us too. Some of the stuff we've been hearing from Mexicans near us, news, and other mission leaders in our state is very discouraging about traveling there at this time. We shouldn't ignore wise counsel, but it's just discerning that wise counsel...ya know?
Thanks for your prayers!
We're praying for the children God is gonna bless you guys with!
