Gingerbread Lane...

I love traditions. Tonight, we watched A Charlie Brown Christmas while we built our gingerbread house. This is something we do every year. I always enjoy it because it's just the two of us, making something together. We make a good team. :)

Check out the finished product below. We are always so proud by the time we finish!

Alex putting the walls up with 'concrete', otherwise known as royal icing. We ran out of icing, so my husand walked over to the KitchenAid and whipped up a fresh batch...I was impressed!

No such thing, as too much candy. LOL

Ta-Da!

So proud! :)

FUN! I've actually never made a gingerbread house before. I think I'd have a blast, though.

Hello. I found your blog through Tammy's blog. I just wanted to introduce myself...Im Michelle. Hubby and I TTC 5 1/2 years, 9 IUI's and 1 IVF and 2 miscarriages. We finally adopted our daughter, who is now 4 months old. I just wanted to tell you that your time will come. God knows when its your time. Not that you didnt already know that. We were blessed with Kayla in such a way that is almost never heard of, and at a time when we least expected it. HE saved us for her becauce HE knew that we needed her and she needed us. Im a true believer in what is meant to be will be and all in God's time, not ours. I look forward to reading your blog about your journey to your little one(s). I pray that your time is very soon! Please feel free to check out my blog!

Hey, thanks for the offer. I am definitely one of those people who doesn't want to be disturbed... Besides the fact that my house is a total wreck. Not that it is usually spotless or anything, but the week of the Madrigal Dinner... it's just a given that it is going to be a DISASTER. And being sick didn't help!
Love your ginger bread house! We made one last year, but the next morning the icing shingles on the roof slid off in one sheet! That was only the beginning of its self-destruction...you should have seen it after trying to put it back together many times...

Look at that -- love it!
