Feels like Fall...

Although the first official day of Autumn isn't until September 22nd, I stepped outside today and there it was...70 degrees, hitting me in the face. It made me smile!

I know it sounds stupid but as soon as fall approaches and the weather actually feels like it, it makes me start thinking about Christmas! I love Thanksgiving but my favorite time of year is most definitely Christmas. Just ask Alex...he knows that if the weather stays like this for any amount of time, I will be pulling out the Bing Crosby Christmas cd's and the music won't stop until December 26th. LOL!

So as I sit here, sipping by decaf coffee (I'm trying to be a good girl during this FET), I'm a little sad that we will miss the Razorback game (We leave at 4am for Florida) but for all of those that are going to the game...I hope this weather sticks around for you to enjoy tomorrow! GO HOGS!!!

Blessings...

Well, I feel like I haven't really blogged in quite sometime so I guess it's time for an update!

I have nothing but blessings to share...

First off, after a month of non-stop remodeling (we had an awesome team!) we are now in our new building! We had our first service in the new building last Sunday. We had the Lord's Supper for the first time as a church which was really special. God has provided for this new church every step of the way and I don't believe He intends to stop now. I believe great things are in store for Journey Church. I'm very thankful God has allowed Alex and I to be a part. I truly can't wait for the day when God gives us children that we can bring up in this church. My parents say that seeing all 6 of their children serving in local bodies is the greatest gift. The closer I become to being a parent, the more I think about this. I look forward to watching my kids grow...and Lord willing they will not only grow up, but most importantly grow spiritually and give their lives to His work. It's truly the best job to have. :)

Secondly, it has finally stopped raining here...yay!! I thought I was going to go insane. I hear the coffee is good but I could never live in Seattle.

And lastly, we're leaving for Florida on Saturday morning!! We're riding down with Cary, Sara and Jackson (my bro and his fam). I'm looking forward to a road trip with lil' J! He is a doll-face but he's also just a really cool kid. Here's a pic of my road trip buddy. Love this little guy. :)

Oh, and I almost forgot! After a very relaxing, almost 4-month break, we start (IM) estrogen injections tonight in preparation for our FET. This means I will be shooting up while on vacation but all is good...she said I can take them in the evenings which means I can still sleep in. :) Love to all!

I'm Quirky!

Cheryl tagged me with this "quirky" meme. Sorry it took me a few days to respond, Cheryl. :)

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about six unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag six fellow bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the six blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

So let's get started!

1. I wash my hands obsessively and tend to make Alex do the same, God bless him for putting up with me.

2. I gross myself out of fully eating many a sandwich, whether a burger, chicken, sausage biscuit...doesn't really matter as long as it's meat. I start thinking "what if this really isn't meat..." I then start to imagine what it actually could be and lose my appetite.

3. I have a certain order of how I do things in the shower...wash my hair, wash my face, wash my body, shave my underarms/legs. Every single morning this is the order and will be the order until the day I die.

4. I must shave every day or I don't feel clean.

5. I always check the toilet before sitting down, in fear that something will crawl up and bite me. I have never had this happen but have read many a story of it happening.

6. I speed up when driving under an overpass in fear that someone will throw something off the overpass and it will come through my windshield.

I thought it would be hard to think of six but as I type them, many more come to mind. I'm a freak.

Instead of tagging 6 people, I'm just going to say if you are reading this and feel like being tagged, have at it! :)

Well, I'm back from the beach. I am so happy to be home with my sweetie pie!! We don't fancy being away from one another for that long. Time for a little Vaca!

Hey everyone!

I'm heading out tomorrow morning for sunny Florida! I'm looking forward to a week on the beach but I'm sad that my sweetie won't be there with me...he has to work. :(

Luckily, we'll head to Florida again (early next month) for another week on the beach and he'll be by my side! This vacation is with his family and a couple of my girlfriends will be there as well, so I'm looking forward to time with all of them. :)

I will have my laptop with me, so I'm sure I won't be able to resist
jumping on here in the evenings to check on all of you. We all know I'm addicted.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Love you all,

Jill

An Attitude of Gratitude...

My verse today was 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Just thought I would share my heart.

"Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."

We all have something in our lives...that thing that makes us think, 'if this would work out, everything would be perfect!' Of course when I read this, my mind immediately goes to the fact that I'm supposed to be thankful for my infertility. The verse is very clear, it's God's will that I be thankful in ALL circumstances of my life. It's so easy to be thankful for the good...the things that make me happy. It's not so easy when it comes to the difficult things. God wants me to praise Him for this thing that makes me cry on a daily basis...the want to conceive a child.

I can't say that I've got this down but I can say that I continue to trust God's best during this time in my life. I'm doing my best to develop an attitude of gratitude...even for the not-so-easy things, like infertility. He has taught me so much already and if He continues to make me wait for a child, I can only believe it's because He still has something to teach me in all of this.

Today, I thank Him for what He has taught me up to this point and I count my infertility as a blessing!

We've come a long way, baby. :)

Love to all,
Jill
